Company

Since it was started up in 1996, our owner-run company has been breaking down language barriers – irrespective of sector, culture or medium. We are proud to be one of the leading agencies, boasting many years of experience and a network of hundreds of qualified and certified translators and proofreaders all over the world. Many of our translators and proofreaders have been with us since the very beginning, forming a solid basis for professional and cross-border communication, and allowing us to maintain our standards and meet your requirements. Our high quality standards were acknowledged in July 2008 when we became one of the first agencies in Germany to be accredited by the TÜV Süd inspection and certification organisation.

DIN certification

LinquaCert

Our certification provides you with the following guarantees:

  • Our working standards meet consistently high quality criteria, as set out in ISO 17100:2015.
  • Our teams of translators and proofreaders are certified and qualified native speakers with the appropriate levels of subject expertise.
  • There will be at least one translator and one proofreader working on your texts (double-checking principle).
  • We are regularly audited by independent bodies in order to verify that we are upholding the mandatory quality standards.

Our certificate can be provided for download.

You are welcome to try out our services before proceeding with a first project, because certification alone is no guarantee that your specific requirements will be met.

Expertise

MediaMate provides translation, proofreading and localisation services into and out of all the Western and Eastern European languages, including their American variants, and the main official Asian and Arabic languages.

Our project teams have specialist linguistic expertise in the following subjects:

  • Plant and mechanical engineering

  • Consumer electronics
  • Consumer goods
  • Finance
  • Law

Please ask if your inquiry does not fall into one of the above fields, stating the language combination you require.

Our project managers will be pleased to help you.

We offer to do a test translation for you free of charge. The source text should not be more than one side of DIN A4 (standard page).

Please send us your sample text by email, specifying the target language and including your full contact details.

Orders

Are you satisfied with our services?
We will be delighted to give you a quotation based on a detailed analysis of your source texts.

The cost of your project will be calculated on the basis of a price per word although we will take account of the language combination and the degree of specialism of your text.

Proven processes

  • File formats and data preparation

    File formats and data preparation

Computer-aided processes enable us to adhere to high quality standards when working on your projects. The CAT tools which we use (computer-aided translation software) support various file formats and processing. Please contact us before you prepare your texts as we may be able to save you time. Our project managers will liaise with you to come up with the most efficient way of processing your texts. If you so wish, we will deliver the translated files in the same format as the source text.

The simplest way to send us your documents is by email. We will be happy to provide you with FTP access for very large volumes of data.

  • Translation memory

Translation memory - your digital memory

Translated texts are stored in a translation memory where they can be accessed or referred back to when working on future projects. As we work on your translation projects, we build up a translation memory which will reap benefits for you in the long term. The more information there is in the translation memory, the less you pay for your translation jobs. If you so wish, we will manage and update your translation memory on a regular basis in order to guarantee consistency in all your translation assignments.

In order to enjoy the optimum benefits of this system, there are some aspects to bear in mind when preparing your documents. These depend on the type of texts requiring translation in your individual case, therefore our project managers will be happy to advise you.

  • Terminology management

    Terminology management

We are often asked whether it is a good idea to compile a list of internal terminology. In our experience a list of set terminology improves the quality of the translations and avoids misunderstandings. Clear product names and descriptions aid understanding. You also have the added security of protecting yourself from any legal complications in connection with incorrect applications arising as a result of inconsistencies or inaccuracies. All these factors will keep costs down in your company in the long term and will enhance your corporate image.

We will be pleased to assist you in these matters or work with you to arrive at the best solution for you. If you are interested, just get in contact with us.
